West Indies vs India, 3rd ODI – Live Cricket Score, Commentary

The players stride out to the middle. Gayle’s scores this series: 4(31) and 11(24). Will the Universe Boss fire today? Is this going to be the last time that we are going to see him in ODIs? Here’s Bhuvi with two slips.
Teams:
West Indies (Playing XI): Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Shai Hope(w), Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Roston Chase, Jason Holder(c), Carlos Brathwaite, Fabian Allen, Keemo Paul, Kemar Roach
India (Playing XI): Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli(c), Rishabh Pant(w), Shreyas Iyer, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal, K Khaleel Ahmed
Virat Kohli: Not a bad thing at all, the toss is not in your control mostly. It’s an opportunity to come out here and execute our skill-sets and our plans on a pitch that is going to be challenging. We spoke about in the last game, how just after a mini break or a drink break, we lost our way with the bat and as well as in the field. So, we need to be professional as a team. One change. Chahal comes in for Kuldeep Yadav.
Jason Holder: We are going to bat first. Seems like a good wicket and an opportunity to put some runs on the board. We need to focus on things we can control. We’ve done a lot of talk, it’s time for execution. We need to learn and take responsibility. We got to play as a team. We’ve got two changes. Sheldon Cottrell is out and Keemo Paul replaces him. We’ve left out Oshane Thomas and brought in Fabien Allen.
West Indies have won the toss and have opted to bat
Right, ready for the toss.
Pitch report by Daren Ganga: “This pitch looks a lot drier from the last one. It will be better for batting, there will be very little turn for the spinners. The toss will become important and this should produce a good contest for both teams.”
India can take a lot of pride with their performances in this tour and they would also want to take this form and momentum going into the Test series. Another thing that will be on their agenda is rotating some fringe members in the squad. Hoping for a fun-filled day, we’ll have toss and the teams shortly..
08:30 am local | 18:00 IST: Hello there! Rain in Galle, rain in London and what’s the scene like in Trinidad? Going by the forecast, it’s a bit murky but the weather in the Caribbean is as unpredictable as their cricket team. On that note, a warm welcome to the third and final ODI of this series. We are up here nice and early, come join us in by shooting your views through our ‘Have Your Say‘ option. With India already 1-0 up, they’ll have their eyes set on a clean-sweep. The hosts simply need to buckle up and raise their game if they’re planning to level the series. They were assaulted by a deadly weapon – that is Virat’s Kohli’s bat – in the last game where the Indian captain led from the front and compiled his 42nd ODI ton. A lot was expected of the young, flamboyant and talented West Indies’ batting line-up, but so far it’s been a bummer. More disappointing than the results is the manner in which they have tamely surrendered.

After a comprehensive victory in the rain-affected second One-Day International (ODI), Virat Kohli’s India have a chance to complete the double in white-ball cricket before the two teams move across to Antigua for the first of two Tests. Sunday’s 59-run drubbing has ensured that India can’t lose the series, but coming on the back of a haunting loss to New Zealand in the World Cup semifinals, nothing less than a series win would assuage for some of the hurt feelings.

Sunday’s win was once again proof of the big gap building between the two teams, at least in the 50-over format. India hold a commanding 7-2 win-loss record in the last 10 games between the two teams, with one tie coming in Visakhapatnam, during the series in 2018. On Sunday, it was all about Virat Kohli. Battling tiredness in humid conditions, the Indian captain made yet another hundred, his 42nd in ODIs, and also went past Sourav Ganguly, to become the second-highest run-scorer, behind Sachin Tendulkar.
